Tryouts for the 2017-2018 Hillcrest Volleyball Team are MONDAY!!! Please make sure that you have all the requirements completed, you will not be able to try out unless you have them all. Come try out and be a part of the team!!
This is really important that you take care of this PRIOR to tryouts this coming August. You need to get a physical completed by your doctor before you are able to try out for the volleyball team. The correct form that you need is linked below. You HAVE to get it done on this form so make sure you download it, print it, and take it to your doctor. Once you have completed it, you will turn it into the MAIN OFFICE (not the day of tryouts). You need to have this completed in order to try out so call your doctor and get an appointment scheduled! THIS IS FOR ALL UPCOMING 9-12th GRADERS INTERESTED IN TRYING OUT!
Attached to this post, you will find the summer conditioning packet. You will need to click on the link and print out a hard copy for you to use throughout the summer. At tryouts, along with the other required documents you need to bring (see tryout post) you will need to bring this as well. Follow the instructions on it, work HARD, and push yourself. Dedicate this summer to getting a little better each and every day. Not just for yourself, but for the team as well. This is a time for you to commit to improving not only your lifestyle, but your game as well. Come prepared to tryouts ready to give it your all and continue the work ethic you develop this summer.
Below I have some bits of information that are important for the next couple months.
FIRST: Our SKILLS CAMP this year will be in the spring. Yay! I am opening it up to ALL girls 7-12th grade. I am doing this in hopes that more people will attend and that girls can find their love for volleyball at a younger age to get more involved. The skills camp will be held on March 8-10th from 3-5 pm in the Large Gym at Hillcrest High School. The cost will be $35 per person. If you want to tryout for the team this summer, I STRONGLY suggest that you make it priority to come to this skills camp. Of course only 9-12th graders can try out, BUT this will show who is wanting to improve at an early age and get a chance to be a part of the Hillcrest Volleyball Program.
There will be posters being hung up in the hallways at the high school and middle schools within the next week with the information about the skills camp and I will also post this same information on this team website as well as our program instagram, hillcrest.volleyball
Regarding the pay: You can either pay in the office and bring me the receipt before hand or you can pay the day of and bring me the receipt. EVERY single person (whether you are siblings or not) will need to pay and also need to complete a "Form B" the day the skills camp starts. This requires a parent signature so you need to make sure a parent is there to sign your form. You CANNOT participate in the skills camp unless you turn the receipt for the payment AND the Form B into me when you walk in the day the skills camp starts. SECOND: We will be having open gyms this year that will start after Hillcrest's spring break. More information to come regarding that, but I will post information once we get closer to that point.
At this point in time the skills camp is the most important thing. Please clear your calendars and make sure you have those dates open for the skills camp. Also, spread the word to all the 7-12th grade girls that you know! Bring your friends- It will be fun!
LAST REMINDER! Going into the weekend, make sure you get your registermyathlete 100% completed and get your physical forms turned into the main office BEFORE tryouts on Monday morning! You cannot tryout if you do not have these completed & turned in. The physical forms have to be filled out on a uhsaa paper, it can't be anything else.
Freshman/sophomore tryouts: 8-10 am
Junior/senior tryouts: 10-12 am
Sophomores trying out: I expect you to be there at least 20 minutes early to get checked in with the coaches and ready to go for tryouts.

Just a reminder to get your registermyathlete completed and your form A and physical turned into the main office ASAP! I see nobody has done that yet. You need to turn it into the main office for your registration to be marked complete. It is a Saturday so a perfect day to get everything done. Tryouts are coming fast so make sure you don't run out of time!
*Important*: With tryouts coming up, you will need to register on Register My Athlete AND GET a physical BEFORE tryouts. If either of these two things are not completed when you come to tryouts, you WILL NOT be able to try out! So please get into a doctor for your physical as soon as possible and take care of registration! Email me if you have any questions. Thanks!
I just wanted to update everyone on a couple things...
1: I wanted to give you guys a heads up that the MANDATORY team skills camp will be August 10-12th from 3-5 pm. You only attend this if you make the team.
2: If you make the team, you need to be prepared to pay for the skills camp AND your spirit pack by Wednesday August 10th before the skills camp starts. You will need to bring me the receipt for both payments. If you do not pay before the camp you will be unable to participate in the skills camp and receive your sweats.
3: Prices for the skills camp, spirit pack, participation fee, etc. will be given at the parent meeting on Tuesday night after final cuts are made. If you have any concerns or questions please contact me.
